Performance Advantages

Low expansion & contraction. TivaDek boards are about 20% denser and heavier than typical PVC decking — and that density is the point. After more than 10 years in the field, TivaDek has proven to be the most dimensionally stable PVC formula on the market, holding contraction under 0.1%. Standard PVC decking typically contracts around 0.2% — twice as much movement across seasons.

Higher strength and fire-tested durability. That same density delivers real structural performance. In head-to-head testing, TivaDek measured a Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) of 2,591 MPa, compared to 1,019 MPa for a leading branded PVC decking board — more than 2.5x stronger. Stiffness like that means less deflection between joists, better support over time, and longer-lasting decks.

TivaDek’s structural integrity is also third-party verified under extreme conditions. Independently tested by Intertek to the Australian bushfire standard AS 1530.8.1, the boards achieved BAL: AA29 — passing all eight performance criteria with no flaming, no through-gap, and no excessive heat transfer over 60 minutes of simulated wildfire exposure. For wildfire-prone areas and cottage properties, that’s a meaningful safety advantage.

Authentic wood look — and feel. The surface doesn’t just look like hardwood, it feels like it underfoot. Heat absorption is close to real wood, so the boards stay barefoot-friendly in summer heat — unlike most PVC decking, which gets uncomfortably hot. That same textured wood-grain surface also delivers exceptional wet slip resistance: Intertek tested TivaDek to AS 4586 (Wet Pendulum Test) and assigned a P5 classification — the highest slip-resistance rating available, with SRV scores from 51 to 67 across three test directions. Safe around pools, hot tubs, and after rain.

Easier to clean, harder to scratch. Compared to other printed PVC boards, TivaDek’s surface is noticeably smoother — dust and dirt don’t catch in the grain texture, so cleaning takes just water. The specially treated cap layer resists scratches during installation and everyday use.
